Introduction

For this project we were provided with a selection of text content to use in the creation of both our immersive prototype and website/E-book. While this was useful I still needed to look through this content and see how much of it I wanted to use, if it required any edits or if I needed to source any more content to supplement that provided.

Curating the provided Content

My first task was to read through all the provided content and decide what elements I wanted to use and what elements I didn’t. After an initial read-through of all the content I decided I don’t want to cover Apollo on the silver screen. While I might mention the program and individual missions have inspired multiple films and television shows, I do not want to go into detail about this or dedicate a section to it.

In terms of the other content the data section provided will be very useful for potentially creating some infographics or lists of data to help tell the narrative throughout the flow of the project.

The main Apollo 11 and Cast and Crew sections are what I will use to build the vast majority of my narrative, although this content does need some work in terms of how it is worded and in some areas I believe it also needs supplemented with some additional information which I will need to source.

I now needed to edit the wording and identify what additional content I required so that I could source it.

I copied over all the original content I wanted to use into a single Notion page so I could highlight what I wanted to change, and identify any extra content I needed and where it would fit in within the flow of my text. I could also start to decide what text could be possibly be altered into lists, infographics or other formats to help tell my narrative and bring the story to life.
