Our final project for our creative entrepreneurship module was to come up with and pitch an idea for a new product or service. This pitch would take the form of a five minute presentation with five minutes for follow up questions from a panel who we were pitching to.

Ideation

The first thing I needed to do was to come up with an idea for my pitch, to get the ball rolling I decided to note down any ideas I could think of as part of a brainstorming exercise, I could then edit these later and follow up with any I felt could be viable options.

To help me I also brought in an image containing the 17 UN Sustainable development goals these are 17 goals the UN and its member states came up with in 2016 to aim to achieve by 2030, they are key markers of worldwide development and aim to tackle some of the huge problems we face in the world today.

I felt these could offer a start from which I could then ideate from.

Below you can see the ideas that I came up with during my ideation:

Some of my ideas were more specific than others, so I decided I needed to pick 5 maximum to build on, so I now needed to curate my ideas to leave me with the best 5 that I could work with further.

I also realised that some of my ideas could be linked together to form one bigger idea out of two of my initial ideas. After some thought I was left with these ideas:

I then combined the linked ideas and came up with 5 ideas for which I could start to research their viability.

From each of these ideas I decided to develop a problem statement, a simple single sentence statement that encapsulated the problem that each if these ideas would try to solve.
